Lastly, the Bulls could finally end the Wendell Carter Jr. experiment

Look, Wendell Carter Jr. is not a bad player by any means. But, he has yet to play a full season and always seems to be battling back from some kind of injury. This year, he’s averaging a career-best 12.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and another career-high in assists with 2.4 per game.

Carter is developing into a complete center, which is exactly what he showed he could be coming out of Duke. But, could this Bulls team go on without him? Absolutely. Chicago may find their way to a different center of the future, and if they can net a first rounder in exchange? That’s a no-brained at this point.

The Celtics are a team looking to win a title. That’s the utmost goal for Boston, and it’s a realistic one with the group they have. Adding Carter would give them an upgrade at their starting center position while allowing Tristan Thompson to come off the bench — something he’s accustomed to doing, and has done it well for a long time, especially in the playoffs.

Carter and Thompson would be one heck of a one-two punch at center, and the Bulls not only get a first rounder in return but also a young, raw center in Robert Williams. Between Williams and Daniel Gafford, who knows, maybe the team finds their big man of the future. At the very least, they have some strong options coming off the bench, and it looks even better when Cristiano Felicio finally comes off the books.
