The Chicago Bears partner with a team that could be scary in 2021

The Miami Dolphins own a couple of first-round picks in the upcoming draft, including the third overall selection. Think about if the Dolphins were to add Mack while keeping that no. 3 pick — pretty scary for Miami fans, right?

The Dolphins very well could end up with a guy like Devonta Smith, Jaylen Waddle or Travis Etienne (among other options) at the third selection overall. Adding one of those players to an offense with Tua Tagovailoa would definitely change things for the better. Plus, they get Mack on a defense that already knows how to take the ball away? That’s a frightening thought.

The Bears would ask for the 18th selection in this year’s draft, plus next year’s first, which will likely be a mid-first if the Dolphins continue to progress into 2022.

Losing Mack would sting no matter what, but the positives in this deal include the Bears looking at a nice pair of picks and also freeing up cap space to be able to re-sign Allen Robinson and shore up the offensive line.

Now, Chicago could pair their own no. 20 pick with the 18th pick and move up into the early teens for someone like Lance. Or, they could add another pick to try and move up even higher — again, targeting one of the top three quarterbacks.
