8. player. 28. . QB. Las Vegas Raiders. Marcus Mariota

Earlier, you learned about Derek Carr and what he has gone through as a member of the Las Vegas Raiders. Well, his backup on that team in 2020 was Marcus Mariota. He only appeared in one game so there really isn’t much to go off of from that season. Most people will judge Mariota based on his failed career with the Tennessee Titans. He had the job there but had it stolen from Ryan Tannehill when he wasn’t playing well. Now, Tannehill has a firm grip on the job, and Mariota was sent out of town.

You have to wonder where Mariota really is as a quarterback. He was the second overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft but he didn’t live up to it. When he was at Oregon, he was one of the best quarterbacks in the country and the Titans believed it as well. They weren’t very good when he was there like they are now so you have to wonder what would happen if he was given a chance somewhere else.

The Bears probably want a quarterback way better than Mariota but they might not have that many options. It also isn’t like Ryan Pace is the best in the world at finding the right guy either so Mariota to the Bears almost makes sense. He may or may not be an upgrade but his name is going to come up this offseason.
