Chicago Bears should consider every one of these QB options

Jimmy Garoppolo is a native of Arlington Heights, Illinois. He has probably spent his whole life dreaming about what it would be like to play for the hometown Chicago Bears. Not a lot of people want him but he would clearly be an upgrade over Trubisky or Foles. It is also warm knowing that Bill Belichick really wanted to keep this guy while waiting out Tom Brady. He has reached a Super Bowl with the San Francisco 49ers so he can’t be that bad.

That one Super Bowl came just a year ago. If they acquired him, it would be a similar situation. They need to run the ball more and play good defense. The problem is, they haven’t had a quarterback good enough to even allow them to do that up to this point. Garoppolo has proven that he can be “good enough”.

Now, imagine he comes to Chicago and is good enough to move the offense at a significantly better rate than what they’ve done the past few years. That could be a team poised to make a playoff run. It will be hard to get out of the NFC or anything like that but you just never know. He has also made many deep runs as both a starter and backup so that experience could have really helped.
