The Chicago Bulls roll the dice on two guards, plus picks, in this deal

In terms of asking price, this last deal is probably the lesser of the three returns. But, the Bulls still get an all-important first-round pick.

For starters, the Bulls not only get a first rounder but a second rounder thrown into the deal as well. Along with the pair of picks, Chicago also gets a couple of younger guards who may not last on the roster. But, it’s worth seeing if either one of them could find their groove with the Bulls.

Both Frank Ntilikina and Dennis Smith Jr. are free agents after this season, so the Bulls could simply choose to take that cash and spend it elsewhere. But, for the mean time, they have a couple of guards to try out within the rotation.

Smith has hardly played this year and has actually asked the Knicks to play in the G League bubble, while Ntilikina is averaging just about 10 minutes per game.

In the end, the Bulls’ most important aspect of this deal is a couple of picks. If they’re going to lose LaVine, then getting draft capital is the top priority here.

Trading LaVine would be a tough thing to get over as a fan. They would be losing their best player, by far. The team would be admitting to yet another rebuild, but this time, under a new front office. Would it be worth it?
