4. A number of wide receivers should interest the Chicago Bears

Considering the future of Allen Robinson, Javon Wims, and Anthony Miller appear to be up in the air, it’s likely that Darnell Mooney is the only wide receiver on the roster next season who was with the Bears in 2021.

Adding more pass catchers will be important for Chicago, especially because the starting quarterback needs a number of weapons to throw to in a pass-happy league. There are two names that should catch the Bears’ eye immediately: Kadarius Toney (Florida) and Tylan Wallace (Oklahoma State).

Wallace was a focal point for Oklahoma State’s offense. While his best season came in 2018 where he amassed 1491 receiving yards, throughout his career, he had 205 total receptions and 26 touchdowns, averaging 16.8 yards per catch. While Wallace may not be the fastest guy on the field, he will be an asset when going after 50-50 balls.

Toney on the other hand amassed 120 receptions over four years while in college and while his most productive season was 2020 where he had 70 receptions, he did average 13.3 yards per catch over four years. Toney should be a day three pick that entices the Bears with his ability to operate from the slot, despite not having an expansive route tree.

Both Wallace and Toney are players who can provide the Bears offense with some sort of spark when called upon. While neither will ever end up being true number one wide receivers, they can at least be serviceable, high volume second options for any offense.
