Chicago Bears Mock Draft: Great value found with players who opted out
By Ryan Heckman
In this sixth round, the Bears go wide receiver once again. This time, it’s a developmental prospect who offers some eye-popping traits. Illinois’ Josh Imatorbhebhe won’t have to travel far after being selected by Chicago, so he’ll be able to get right to work.
The 6-foot-2 ultra-athletic wide receiver has the ideal size to become a starter on the outside. Imatorbhebhe Has pretty decent speed, but his overall athleticism is off the charts. He has an unofficial 46-inch vertical, which is off the charts — that’s Kobe Bryant like, folks.
Imatorbhebhe Is one of those guys who can go up and high point a football with perfect timing and come down with it in traffic. He’s quite impressive, in fact, when it comes to making the spectacular catches.
In 2020, the Illini went through a number of quarterbacks and thus had a tough season. Because of that, Imatorbhebhe‘s numbers were down compared to 2019. His best season came two years ago when he caught 33 passes for 634 yards — a whopping 19.2 yards per catch — and nine touchdowns.
Imatorbhebhe gives the Bears just another potential red zone threat who can also work the sidelines. If he’s able to further his route-running skills a bit and expand that tree, he’ll find himself in the NFL for a lengthy career.
