OT. Minnesota. Daniel Faalele. 3. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 57

Two rounds in a row, the Bears snag a player which did not see the field in 2020. But, with their third-round pick, Chicago likely gets a starting tackle in Minnesota’s Daniel Faalele.

This is the type of pick fans will want to see in the draft. The Bears have to address the tackle position within the first three rounds, and getting Faalele here is absolutely one of the best case scenarios at pick 84.

Just looking at him, the 6-foot-8, 400-pound Faalele is a pure monster. His size is undeniable. It’s eye-opening watching him on the field up against guys who, otherwise, would look like mammoths. But, going up against a man of Faalele’s stature is a task that makes even the bigger guys on the field look average size.

Prior to the 2020 season, Faalele projected as a surefire starting offensive tackle in the NFL. He certainly would have gone in the second round — and he still could. But, with the way mocks are going right now, he could go anywhere from the second round to late in the third.

That makes him an unbelievable value here for the Bears, and a welcomed one. Chicago could be looking at cutting one of Charles Leno or Bobby Massie, both due to performance and the ability to save some money. In that case, Faalele could definitely step in and become viable replacement.
