One player who might just need a change of scenery is Derek Carr. For the most part, the Raiders organization has been a clown show for the better part of two decades. They are similar to the Bears in a lot of ways because they always manage to have some great players on both sides of the ball but never have success for more than one year at a time. Now, like the Bears, they went 8-8 in 2020. They might be looking to move on from Carr as things haven’t gone well there in terms of wins and losses.

Just because they haven’t been consistent there, doesn’t mean that it is all Carr’s fault. He had a pretty good year on a mediocre team in 2020 and he has also been a Pro Bowl quarterback three times in his career. That is a significant upgrade over what the Bears have dealt with for the better part of a century. In his career, he has a lousy record of 47-63 but he has thrown 170 touchdowns to only 71 interceptions.

It isn’t like he has fallen off either as his 8-8 season in 2020 saw him throw 27 touchdowns to 9 interceptions. A three to one ratio in the NFL certainly isn’t bad. If he came to the Bears, they drafted a left tackle with pick number 20, and they figured out a way to add some more weapons, they could really have a much better offense in 2021. If their offense improves, their defense might be elite again as a result. Derek Carr would be a nice option if all else fails.
