The Chicago White Sox had a decent rotation in 2020. Of course, it was headlined by their ace, Lucas Giolito. Second in the rotation was Dallas Keuchel who was pitching in his first-ever Chicago White Sox season. They were both brilliant and as good of a 1-2 punch as there is in the entire MLB. In fact, Keuchel was so good that he finished in fifth place for the American League Cy Young. Lucas Giolito was so good that he finished in seventh. Who was sandwiched in between them? A guy named Lance Lynn.

Lynn has been a very good pitcher throughout his career. He has a World Series ring (that he won with Tony La Russa as his manager) and one appearance in the All-Star Game. Well, the White Sox saw fit to trade Dane Dunning to the Texas Rangers in exchange for Lynn. He is going to come to Chicago and round out what should be a great three-headed monster. You probably stick with Giolito and Keuchel as the one and two and insert Lynn as the third guy so you have a good lefty/righty mix.

The White Sox clearly needed a top-end third starter going into this year. It was Dylan Cease for most of the 2020 season but he fell off a bit towards the end with his command. Cease could be just a few starts away from figuring it out which would make this rotation even deeper. If you consider the fact that Michael Kopech is coming you can be assured that this rotation is in good hands going forward. Adding Lynn could be a key factor to them making a run at a World Series.
