Chicago Bears have limited options after Matthew Stafford trade news

Option 1: Matthew Stafford becomes a Chicago Bear
The first option is pretty simple: Pace goes after Stafford harder than any other team does. In order to pull of a trade like this, and see Stafford dealt within the division, the price tag would be increasingly higher than it would be for another team.
But, the thought of Stafford on the Bears is a pretty easy one to see. Put Stafford on this team, as-is, and the Bears are a Super Bowl contender in 2021-2022.
One big implication coming from a trade like this would be the fact that Allen Robinson may have a reason to stick around after all — except, that would come at the cost of seeing other names get released or traded, and probably on the other side of the ball.
Stafford’s cap hit is $33 million for the 2021 season, and Robinson will probably demand top-10 receiver money. That’s a lot of cash to pay for the both of them.
Robinson’s situation aside, adding Stafford could diffuse all questions about the quarterback going forward. It would end up costing at least a first-round pick, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, but if the Bears were to get involved that price would probably become a first and second-round pick. It might even become a formidable player on defense plus a first-round pick.
