Chicago Bears: 3 quarterback solutions for the 2021 season
By JACOB GRANT
Houston Texans Deshaun Watson
You want to get nuts? Lets get nuts.
Remember when I said Pace has a chance to right his wrongs? Well look no further than Deshaun Watson. The star quarterback has grown disgruntled with the Houston Texans franchise and is looking to play elsewhere in 2021.
Coming off of a season in which he led the league in passing, Watson’s value is at an all time high. While this may help the Texans ROI, Watson has a full no trade clause in his contract limiting the teams he can actually be traded to.
It will be up to Watson where he wants to go, and the Texans will have to get the best package for him at that point.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, one NFC exec said, “Oh yeah — he’s worth at least that,” when speaking about three first round draft picks for Watson. “The haul would be pretty insane.”
Insane indeed. We haven’t seen a deal of this magnitude since New Orleans traded eight picks, including two first rounders, to Washington for the fifth pick in the 1999 NFL Draft resulting in Ricky Williams.
When push comes to shove, it may be what Pace and Nagy are looking for to save their jobs. Willing to mortgage the future for four years of Watson at the helm.
It wont come cheap. But if the move pays off, all parties involved will be legends in the city of Chicago forever.
