Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy and general manager Ryan Pace have been given one more chance to get things right.

For some reason, Bears fans are now burdened with more of the same from Chicago’s brass. The season-ending press conference a few days ago provided the world with a blatant picture of why the Bears have been mediocre for the majority of this century.

George McCaskey and Ted Phillips continue to fool themselves into believing that Pace and Nagy are the tandem to get it done, and now, fans have no choice but to live with it. After all, fans have to live through the good, bad and ugly times. That’s what it’s about.

Now, Pace is tasked with fixing the quarterback position once again. He’s failed three times in six years, and due to some God-forsaken reason he now has a fourth opportunity. At this stage, it’s on to the offseason. This is our nightmare, and together we’ll have to get through it.

If Pace is going to try and secure his job for a lengthier time here in Chicago (which not exactly an inspiring thought), he will have to do something big. Now, the question is, will he do something in free agency or in the draft? Quite frankly, we’ve seen both routes taken by Pace in the past and neither has worked.

For the sake of this scenario, we’re looking ahead to the 2021 NFL Draft. The Bears have the 20th pick overall and will have to move up into the top 10 if they are to have any shot at a franchise-altering quarterback.

Trevor Lawrence is going number one. There’s no debate, there. But, there might be a debate as to who is the number two quarterback off the board. Is it Justin Fields or Zach Wilson? Let’s find out who could be available if Pace takes one more gigantic plunge towards saving his future with the Bears.
