Chicago Bears: 5 impulsive trades to quickly fix quarterback position

Trade 3: The Chicago Bears go up and get Zach Wilson
Early in the 2020 college football season, our very own Patrick Sheldon had pegged BYU quarterback Zach Wilson as this year’s big-time riser. Before anyone was really talking about Wilson, he saw it — and Patrick was spot on.
After just a couple of games, Wilson’s draft stock soared. He went from being somewhat of a mid-round flier to what looked like a top-60 pick. Then, something special happened. Wilson began grabbing the attention of every college fan and analyst in the nation.
Now, he’s looked at as a surefire top-15 pick by just about everyone. But, he will likely go in the top 10 and probably sneaks up into the top six picks. If that’s the case, the Bears will have to fork over quite a bit in order to get him — but it will be worth it.
Wilson gives the Bears everything they need in a quarterback. He’s exactly what the city of Chicago would rally around and grow to love. He’s got that attitude and edge to him — a swagger, if you will.
He has all the arm talent in the world and can make a 50-yard pass on the run look like it was just a flick of his wrist. Wilson, of course, has the mobility coveted by many NFL teams in today’s league, too.
Wilson is a future stud in this league, and he’s worth every bit of the above trade. Another quarterback out of BYU, wearing a headband, in a Bears uniform? Let’s start partying like it’s 1985.
