Chicago Bears: McCaskey, Phillips spew 3 significant lies in presser
By Ryan Heckman
Lie Number 2: Ryan Pace and Matt Nagy’s body of work is good enough to keep them
When McCaskey was asked a question about what made him think keeping Pace and Nagy around was worthwhile, he responded by saying that, overall, their body of work is the main reason — and, yes, McCaskey also brought up “overcoming adversity” and the losing streak as an example, once more.

This is such a bold-faced lie to himself, those underneath him within the organization and the entire fan base. It’s beyond lying at this stage. This is complete and utter delusion.
Nagy’s body of work includes a great honeymoon where the Bears went 12-4 and looked as though they could become a dominant force, followed by two seasons full of mediocrity. His body of work has proven he is unable to call the right plays at the right time. His body of work has proven he cannot hold players accountable and will continue to accept mental errors week-in and week-out.
Pace’s body of work is now six years running, and includes whiffing on the quarterback position three times. How on earth does that warrant a fourth opportunity?
Where, in either of these guys’ time in Chicago, have they shown consistent growth and progress? There has been none — zero. If anything, Pace is in the midst of completely wasting a roster featuring some highly talented players and, if he doesn’t pull off a miracle this offseason with the quarterback position, he’s going to find out just how upset he’s made that locker room.
Think about Deshaun Watson and Houston right now. If Pace keeps wasting these guys’ careers, his career will soon be over.
