The Chicago Bears left fans with a lot of questions.

Yesterday, the Chicago Bears “brain trust” (if you can even call it that) spoke for 82 minutes and managed to say very little, if anything, about the 2020 season or the future of their franchise. It was actually quite impressive how they wove platitudes, buzz words, and fake technical difficulties into the most rancid word-salad you’ve ever experienced.

But such has become the way for this franchise which has been listing rudderless in a dingy, while most of the rest of the league sails past them with pity. Yet, George McCaskey, with all his naïveté, tries to connect with the fans to appear as if he’s “just one of them” and equally disappointed with the team’s lack of performance over the last 35 years.

But he’s grossly unqualified to be running a football team, which was perhaps best evidenced by his comment yesterday that he has been consulting other NFL owners for advice. While it was an incredibly sincere statement, it also showed how out of touch George is with the level of shrewdness you need to run a football team. Can you imagine the Samsung CEO calling Apple to ask how they can build phones that don’t explode? Or the head of UPS asking for 30 minutes of Jeff Bezos’ time to pick his brain about logistics?

Yet here is George asking his competition how to get out of a hole he and his family have been responsible for creating. It raises a huge question as to whether he can continue to serve in this role, but it wasn’t the only question raised during yesterday’s Zoom call. Here are five other big ones.
