The Chicago Cubs and New York Mets could make a trade for MLB roster players.

Trade Three:

The National League Central Division is not very good. The St. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds, Milwaukee Brewers, and Chicago Cubs are all losing good players but still have other good players. None of them is a powerhouse but they are all capable of winning the division with 80-89 wins. The Pittsburgh Pirates are the only team who has no chance to compete for a division title at all. If they traded Bryant, it might be wise to go for a few Mets roster players that they clearly don’t need.

The Mets are in heavy George Springer rumors. If he went to New York, they would have an extra starting outfielder to spare in a trade. J.D Davis would be a good one for the Cubs as they no longer have Kyle Schwarber to play left field. The Mets would have to shuffle their guys around a bit but that would be easy with Springer in the mix. Bryant can also play outfield which is nice in addition to his third base.

Jeff McNeil is the third baseman right now over there in New York and bringing him back in a Bryant deal makes a lot of sense as well. He could play third for the Cubs in Bryant’s absence and do a decent job of it. This is the type of trade the Cubs make if Jed Hoyer wants to try and win with Javier Baez and Anthony Rizzo one more time.

It seems to be the least likely of the three scenarios but you just never know when the rest of the division is this mediocre. It is pretty sad that we have to be talking about a Bryant trade instead of an extension but that is the business of the game.
