The Chicago Bulls had their annual west coast road trip end with a 1-3 record.

The record on the west coast doesn’t exactly show the differences between last season and the current one for the Chicago Bulls. Let’s face facts here, 1-3 sounds pretty awful.

Overcoming a 20-point deficit against the Portland Trail Blazers last Tuesday was a foreign, yet welcome and joyous feeling for Bulls Nation. If Jim Boylen’s Bulls were down by 20 in the second quarter, you can bet that they would have folded right then and there.

That’s the key though: overcoming adversity. That is something that the Zach LaVine-era Bulls have struggled to do throughout their existence. That was something Billy Donovan was hired for.

After that great comeback came three excruciatingly close losses in a row. Four points, two points, three points. Talk about not being able to catch a break.

This Tyrese Haliburton jumper had to be the most painful. That shot will be giving fans nightmares until the rematch comes in February.

Questionable defensive rotation by the Bulls, but still one heck of a shot.

Then, LeBron did what he has always done to the Bulls, and then LaVine’s 45 points couldn’t save his team against Kawhi Leonard and the Clippers.

Pain.

There were a lot of good things to take away from these games, but let’s not get it mixed up. Three of these four games were losses.

Let’s take a look at what this west coast trip brought to our attention.
