Chicago Bears’ potential replacements for Allen Robinson: Terrace Marshall Jr.

Lost in LSU’s down season in 2020 was the performance of surefire top-60 pick Terrace Marshall Jr. The 6-foot-3 wide receiver projects as a number one guy in an NFL offense and could be one heck of a pick in the second round for Chicago.

This past season, Marshall caught 48 passes for 731 yards and 10 touchdowns — a year after hauling in 46 passes for 671 yards and 13 scores. His 2019 campaign was incredible when you consider he was also playing with Ja’Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson — yes, Marshall posted that line as their third-best receiver.

Whoever ends up drafting Marshall is getting a receiver that can line up anywhere. He has experience lining up outside and in the slot and offers the physicality to make big plays after the catch.

If the Bears took a player like Marshall in the second round, assuming he’s available, that would likely mean they went offensive line or quarterback in the first round. Marshall could be an instrumental piece of a revamped offensive puzzle for the Bears in 2021.

No matter who ends up in uniform as the Bears’ number one receiver in 2021, one thing is for sure: it shouldn’t be anyone else on this current roster if it’s not Robinson. The Bears will have to go out and get themselves a true featured receiver if Robinson leaves.
