Chicago Bears looking for a new slot?

Over the last few weeks, the Chicago Bears have unfortunately had to play without two of their top three cornerbacks, losing Jaylon Johnson and Buster Skrine to injuries. Unfortunately for Skrine, he has been unable to get back on the field since leaving the Houston Texans game with a concussion.

That is a long time to be absent with concussion like symptoms and we wish Skrine nothing but the best in his recovery. If there was a positive takeaway for the Bears, though, it was that they got to get an extended look at Duke Shelley and Kindle Vildor as their replacements.

While they have struggled at times, they have not done anything to think they can’t be capable NFL starters in this league.

Again, with a team that is salary cap strapped, it would make sense for them to look at replacing Skrine with one of the aforementioned cornerbacks, each of whom are still on their rookie contract.

They could save nearly three million by parting ways with Skrine, and so it feels like that is almost a foregone conclusion at this point.
