Anthony Miller’s time with the Chicago Bears should probably be up.

Not many players that don’t play quarterback have been a bigger disappointment for the modern-day Chicago Bears than Anthony Miller. Chicago selected him in the second round (51st overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft. He hasn’t really lived up to the expectations that are placed on a good second round Wide Receiver. Instead, he really has just opened his mouth a bunch and didn’t perform on the field the way someone who opens their mouth that much should.

In 2020, he caught 49 balls for 485 yards and two touchdowns. The guy who was supposed to be the clear number two guy behind Allen Robinson was Anthony Miller but a fifth-round pick named Darnell Mooney was wildly more productive.  It is not a slight to Mooney to say that because he is going to be a great player for a long time (he may even be the number one receiver in 2021) but it does say a lot about how little Miller has performed.

Trading Miller is certainly possible. It isn’t something that might be hard like the Khalil Mack situation mentioned before. If a team like the Kansas City Chiefs or Baltimore Ravens wanted to add a guy like that for their franchise quarterback to have as a depth receiver they might be willing to do it. It hasn’t worked out for him in Chicago so far and this might be the year to move on.
