Chicago Bears: Heads should roll at Halas Hall after playoff exit
By Ryan Heckman
The Chicago Bears need to finally let go of Ryan Pace
Fourth time’s a charm, right? That’s how the saying goes?

Of course it’s not how the saying goes. General manager Ryan Pace should not be given a fourth chance to get the quarterback position solved — not in a million years.
He’s done his best to drive this franchise backwards by failing to establish the most important position in all of sports, the quarterback. We just ended the talk on Trubisky, but who do you think is responsible for that mistake?
In the same year he drafted Trubisky, Pace signed Mike Glennon to an $18 million contract for the 2017 season. Talk about a swing and a miss — twice.
Last offseason, Pace traded away a pretty valuable fourth-round pick in order to land former Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Nick Foles and, well, I don’t think I need to go into detail about how that experiment is going.
Not only has Pace failed at the quarterback position, but he’s not done well in the draft overall. Sure, he’s found some mid-round gems and even did so this year with Darnell Mooney. But, his whiffs have been far worse than his hits. Taking two unheard-of offensive linemen in the seventh round over a developmental quarterback or a possible shot in the dark on an offensive weapon is just as bad as any mistake he’s made.
Pace should not be trusted in the draft anymore, and he surely shouldn’t be trusted when it comes to finding a quarterback, no matter the avenue chosen. Pace needs to go, and quickly.
