Chicago Bears: Heads should roll at Halas Hall after playoff exit
By Ryan Heckman
The Chicago Bears need to fire Matt Nagy immediately
Harsh? Maybe. Accurate and fair? Absolutely.
Three years ago, the honeymoon was sweet. It was seemingly a match made in heaven. Coming over from an explosive Kansas City Chiefs offense, Matt Nagy brought a fresh perspective and positive attitude.

But, as time has gone one, Nagy has become one of the guys who must be the smartest guy in the room. Handing the keys back to Bill Lazor to call plays was just Nagy appeasing the critics, because he’s had his hand back in that cookie jar for the last couple of games. It hasn’t been all Lazor — no chance.
Watching the game against New Orleans, you just wondered where his creativity went. You wonder when, if ever, Nagy would finally choose to adapt and adjust. The game plan was so incredibly vanilla, outside of the dropped pass on a trick play, that the Saints just had to sit back and let the Bears fall on their face offensively.
Collectively, Nagy has failed to lead this offense where it should have been able to go. Even with the incompetence at quarterback, there should have been much more adjustments made from the head coach, yet there haven’t been.
Accountability has been one of his worst downfalls, too, as the missed tackles, penalties and bonehead decisions (two big ones coming in both games against the Saints this year) have continued to linger. Nagy cannot hold his players accountable. He never has, and as far as I’m concerned, he never will.
It’s time for Nagy to get the boot. This team deserves a change, now.
