The Chicago Bears must act swiftly in effort to make drastic change this offseason.

What on earth was that showing Chicago Bears fans saw in the NFC Wildcard on Sunday? In short, it was exactly what fans have seen all season long. Nothing that happened in the loss to the New Orleans Saints should have come by surprise.

In fact, the only emotion fans should be feeling is anticipation, because change has to be coming. That loss struck the final nerve in much of the fan base, and the Bears have no choice but to start drawing up stacks of walking papers.

The 2020 season was a rollercoaster for these Bears, and quite frankly, the majority of this roster deserved better. There are guys on this team whose careers are being wasted by the incompetence that is, and has been, the Chicago Bears brass.

A 5-1 record at the beginning of this season was a mirage. The pipe dream of finishing atop the NFC North 11 weeks later evaporated quicker than anyone could have imagined — unless you saw what many fans were seeing every single week. It was there, but it was hiding behind close wins and poor opposing defenses.

The Bears hardly deserved to be in the postseason to begin with, and we saw exactly why against the Saints. Chicago was never as good as that 5-1 record once upon a time, and they were barely as good as the 8-8 record they limped into the postseason with.

Mediocrity is the name of the game and the Bears have been playing it well for two years now, but nothing has changed. And, nothing will change unless heads start to roll at Halas Hall.

Is that a little blunt, or just about right? Because if I’m a fan, I’m quite sick of the product on the field for the past two seasons. It’s time for the chopping block, and these guys must go.
