2. Football operations for the Chicago Bears could look different
There are a number of ways that football operations for the Chicago Bears could look different for the Chicago Bears in 2021. There could an entirely new regime in Chicago or someone like Ryan Pace could be fired with Matt Nagy having a bigger voice within the organization.
Regardless of what the Bears ownership decides to do, the fact that football operations could look different bodes well for Bears fans. Over the last six years, the Bears have been accustomed to Pace trading away draft capital and signing free agents to big contracts in an effort to shore up the roster.
Whoever is calling the shots in Chicago in 2021 will be tasked with figuring out how to get the most out of a good defense while figuring out the quarterback position. In other words, the Bears will need to figure out the position that has plagued them for decades.
Furthermore, by shaking up the front office, there is fresh perspective that will be added regarding draft strategy, how to approach free agency, and how to take a modern approach to building the Bears, which includes using analytics.
Considering the Bears are behind on potentially making changes, it is hard to identify an ideal candidate right now that could play a role in turning the franchise around. However, some names to keep an eye on include: Omar Khan (Pittsburgh Steelers) and Mike Borgonzi (Kansas City Chiefs).
