Neither Mitchell Trubisky nor Nick Foles is a long term Chicago Bears quarterback.

The Chicago Bears aren’t all that set with their current situation either. You have already heard a whole bunch of disgust with the way Mitchell Trubisky pick has panned out. He is a super nice kid that is easy to root for but he is never going to help the Bears go far in the playoffs. It is a shame but that is the way it is at this point. They didn’t pick up his fifth-year option going into 2021 so it will be interesting to see if they try to bring him back.

Ryan Pace’s plan to put a bandaid on the Trubisky pick has failed miserably as well. He traded draft capital to the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for Nick Foles before the season. Foles has been mostly awful with the Bears and there is no denying it. If anything, you start Mitch over him because of the fact that Foles is a statue back there.

Adding Deshaun Watson in a trade would solve a lot of these issues. They would be able to then let Trubisky walk but they would still owe Foles a lot of money for another year. Unless they can get a team to take Foles’ contract, they might be stuck with paying him in 2021. However, Watson is the type of quarterback that you go for and sort out these little details later.
