The Chicago Bears have a terrible franchise history with quarterbacks.

As mentioned before, the Chicago Bears don’t ever get good quarterback play. Jim McMahon was good enough to allow the defense and run game to win a Super Bowl in 1985 but Jay Cutler is statistically the best quarterback to ever play for them which is a problem. It is even worse when you realize that Trubisky is top-five in all-time Bears’ passing yards and touchdowns. It is a position of failure for this city and they need to get it right soon.

Landing Watson would change that right away. He is too good to fail to meet those expectations.s He did it with the Clemson Tigers on the biggest stage and with a few competent Texans teams, he has made big playoff moves. It would be nice to see him and the Bears each get something they need out of a deal like this. He would cost a lot of money because of his contract that is about to kick in and the Texans aren’t just going to move him for the sake of moving him.

If the Bears finally hit the jackpot on a player like that, however, who is in charge would have immediate job security. There are some people who, despite the playoff outcome, want Ryan Pace fired. A lot of what is wrong about this team’s quarterbacks is because of him and it is fair to say that he doesn’t have the right to choose the next one. Either way, this team’s franchise history under center is ugly and Watson would change that.
