Trade 1: The Chicago Bears acquire Deshaun Watson for a deal centered around Eddie Jackson

This first deal is probably the most acceptable one for Bears fans. Eddie Jackson is a guy who we all fell in love with the moment he suited up in navy and orange. As a fourth-round pick who was coming off a significant injury, the Bears took a chance on him — and he made them look wise for doing so.

Jackson was a takeaway machine during his first two years in Chicago, and especially so in 2018 when he picked off six passes, forced two fumbles and scored three defensive touchdowns. Oh, by the way, Jackson ended up with 15 passes defensed that year also. But, this year, folks are starting to wonder what happened.

He still has the name, and he’s still recognized as one of the better safeties in this league. But, zero interceptions over the entirety of the 2020 season is puzzling for a guy who made his living being a ball hawk for his first three years. Some may wonder if it’s a scheme thing, as it is with other Bears defenders having underwhelming seasons.

But, with a change of scenery, maybe Jackson reverts back to his All Pro self. Along with Jackson, the Texans get a pair of first-round picks, each coming in the next two drafts. They also get Chicago’s second-round selection in 2022.
