Chicago Bears pass on quarterback in this seven-round mock draft
By Ryan Heckman
Once again, the Chicago Bears add to their offensive line with pick 83 overall in Round 3.
While we’re at it early on, let’s just fix the tackle position all together. Cosmi can slide right in and start for either Leno or Massie, but adding a prospect like Clemson’s Jackson Carman in the third round should now frighten both of the Bears’ starting tackles. It’s a changing of the… tackle?

Carman is another big man added for the Bears at 6-foot-5 and 345 pounds, and he’s anything but ‘nice.”
This guy plays angry, which is a trait you normally see most with interior linemen. But, once and a while, you get somebody who plays violent on the edge — and that’s Carman. The junior has some fantastic qualities, but the best one by far is what he can do with his hands.
The Draft Network’s Joe Marino puts it well: “If he gets the clamps, it’s game over for his opponent.”
Basically, if Carman gets both hands right where he wants on his man, that guy isn’t going anywhere. Trubisky is safe. The running back has a lane. All is well.
Carman gets to the second level well if need be, too, and has above-average strength in his anchor. The Bears very well could have two rookie starting tackles in 2021 if they went this route. Carman is a stud.
