Chicago Bulls: Recent Zach LaVine trade scenarios return big hauls
By Ryan Heckman
2. Chicago Bulls pair Zach LaVine with Luka Doncic
The second trade mentioned by Siegel is a bit more interesting for both ends. Trading LaVine to the Dallas Mavericks would make that team incredibly tough to beat down the stretch.
Dallas already has one of the best players in all of basketball in Luka Doncic, along with stud big man Kristaps Porzingis. Adding LaVine as their third piece and creating a monstrous big three would be enormous for Dallas.
To get LaVine in this one, though, the Mavs would trade a pair of guards in Tim Hardaway Jr. and Jalen Brunson, along with a pair of picks.
Hardaway Jr. would be a fine addition to the squad, although his contract is up after this year which would mean he’ll likely head elsewhere — and that’s fine.
Brunson, though, could be a sneaky addition to the Bulls’ depth. The former Villanova guard is just 24 years old and is averaging over 11 points per game this year. Chicago would do themselves a favor by hanging onto him in the future.
Along with the two guards from Dallas, the Bulls get a couple of picks. The big one is next year, which is Dallas’ first rounder. This year, they’d snag the Mavs’ second-round pick. But, next year, they’d be picking with the Mavs’ first rounder.
