The Chicago Bears’ loss to the Green Bay Packers makes their playoff berth feel strange.

The Chicago Bears had a tough loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday afternoon. they went up 7-0 in the game and that was the last moment that it felt like they had a chance to win the football game. Aaron Rodgers and his Packers offense basically did whatever they wanted to the Bears defense and won the game 35-16. It was a pretty bad showing by a Bears team that absolutely needed to win.

The end of the game was a strange feeling because they actually clinched a playoff berth with the loss. The Los Angeles Rams won their game against the Arizona Cardinals in a game that was being played at the same time. The Cardinals’ loss put them in a tie with the Bears at 8-8. Chicago held the tiebreaker so they are going to the playoffs.

It doesn’t really feel right but the Bears are in the playoffs. The NFL decided to add one extra playoff team to each side this year and that seventh team just happened to be the Bears. Not only did they earn the added playoff spot, but they also backed into it by relying on Los Angeles to beat Arizona. The team didn’t play well and still clinched so it just all feels wrong.

The reason they lost feels clear. Matt Nagy did a horrible job coaching this team again. It was obvious that he was calling the plays again and we all know how disastrous that is. The offense didn’t look competent like it did in the prior few weeks and Nagy deserves some blame. We know that the Packers are simply a better team but that was disgusting. If Mitchell Trubisky isn’t put in a position to succeed on every single play, he is incapable of improvising.

So now that they are in the playoffs, what can we expect? Well, the Green Bay Packers clinched a bye with that win so the Bears draw the New Orleans Saints. The Saints are far from a perfect football team as they have shown some weaknesses in 2020 but they are certainly better than the Bears.

Hot. Justin Fields should be Chicago's number one target in the draft. light

The only thing they can hope for is that Roquan Smith and Darnell Mooney come to play healthy and that they are able to contain an older looking Drew Brees. If all of the stars fall into place, they might be able to pull off a miracle but don’t count on it. They don’t deserve to be a playoff team but that doesn’t mean, however, that we shouldn’t root hard for them on game day. If anything, it is awesome that we get to see our favorite team have one more chance after what has been a tough year on and off the field.
