Chicago Bears: Rumored quarterbacks to the Bears in 2021
By Ryan Heckman
3. Chicago Bears rumored quarterback target: Andy Dalton
Back to Dallas, because they have two quarterbacks who will be notable names in 2021. Obviously, we’ve covered Prescott. But, what about his backup and long-time Cincinnati Bengal, Andy Dalton?
There have been multiple opinions on Dalton heading to Chicago. Referring back to the fine folks at Windy City Gridiron, a few of their staff members wrote a few weeks ago that they believed Dalton is a sensible target for the Bears in 2021.
While filling in for Prescott this year, Dalton has done the best he can. It’s incredibly hard to judge his 2020 season because of a few variables. The first one is the most important, and that’s the offensive line. The line is not what it once was for various reasons including injuries.
Secondly, it’s Dalton’s first year in the offense and after being thrown into the fire, he’s done fairly well for the circumstances. In eight games, Dalton has tossed 14 touchdowns to seven interceptions.
Coming to Chicago, Dalton would need a solidified offensive line if he were to give the Bears a chance to win games. Chicago must take an offensive tackle in the first round if they go the route of having two veterans under center in Dalton and Foles. Would Dalton be enough for the Bears to compete in 2021, though? My gut says no.
