3. It’s all on Mitchell Trubisky for the Chicago Bears offense

Could it be any more obvious? These types of games are always on the quarterback’s shoulders. Despite Trevathan and Quinn being liabilities at times, the Bears defense will more than likely come out hungry and motivated, playing one of the best games of their season.

If the Bears hold the Packers to 25 points or less, this is a must-win for Trubisky. There is no excuse for him not to play well in this one.

The last time we saw Trubisky against the Packers, it was in the November 29th beating the Bears took. In that game, it was Trubisky’s first start since being benched. It was also a game that saw Trubisky make some elementary mistakes, such as throwing deep into double coverage multiple times and making the absolute wrong read.

This game is a lot of pressure on his shoulders. On one hand, it could be the last chance he has to prove that he deserves another contract in Chicago. If things don’t go well, this could be the last time we see him in a Bears uniform.

The offense has improved tremendously over the past month, with Trubisky under center, so one would like to think it continues that trend. With David Montgomery running the ball better than most backs in the league right now, Chicago looks balanced and formidable.

But, one or two false moves by Trubisky and this Cinderella story is over. The comeback will fall short. He cannot afford the same mistakes we saw him make last time he played Green Bay.
