Chicago Bears: These are the most important players against the Packers
By Ryan Heckman
4. Mitchell Trubisky must show the Chicago Bears why he should stick around
That infamous game about a month ago was Trubisky’s first start after his benching earlier this year. In that one, we saw a few good things but fans mostly walked away knowing that the same old Mitch made the same mistakes we’ve seen his entire career. From that game on, Trubisky started to look a bit better.
In this one, Trubisky will be on the mind of Packers defensive coordinator Mike Pettine. Green Bay will be coming hard after Trubisky, because that’s how you get him rattled. If you can put the pressure on Trubisky, he will undoubtedly fold. Trubisky’s best ball is played when he can be kept clean and roll out of the pocket.
He’ll have the Smith brothers coming hard after him in this one.
This game is a do-or-die game for Trubisky, as far as I’m concerned. Is he going to rise to the occasion, play well, and prove to Chicago that he deserves another contract? Or, will he fail to rise and see the Bears lose, miss the playoffs and immediately enter an offseason chock full of questions and doubt.
This is a big week for Trubisky and the Bears. What kind of game do we see out of the former no. 2 overall pick?
