Chicago Bears: 2021 NFL Draft prospects to watch in Rose Bowl

8. LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, Notre Dame
Much like explained with Alabama Linebacker Dylan Moses, the Bears know that Danny Trevathan is getting older and while he’ll be with the team in 2021, Chicago needs to start thinking about Trevathan’s replacement. Enter Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, who’s experienced quite the rise throughout 2020.
While watching Owusu-Koramoah all throughout the 2020 season, there are a few aspects of his game that stick out. First, his ability to be a true three-down linebacker is what makes him such an appealing option. Combine his ability to play all three downs with his ability to cover tight ends and it’s clear that you’ve got a star in the making.
Between 2019 and 2020, his production has been off the charts as well. He’s totaled 136 total tackles, 24.5 tackles for loss, and seven total sacks. It’s been clear that he’s been a productive part of Notre Dame’s defense.
Right now, one could also say that Owusu-Koramoah is continuing to get better. The untapped potential is what should make him one of the first defensive players selected in the 2021 NFL Draft. Having him play next to a guy like Roquan Smith could help him realize his true potential and give the Bears one of the best inside linebacker duos in the NFL.
