Chicago Bears: 2021 NFL Draft prospects to watch in Rose Bowl
By Usayd Koshul
5. IOL Landon Dickerson, Alabama
While the Bears do have Sam Mustipher, James Daniels, Cody Whitehair, and Alex Bars as options to start for the interior offensive line in 2021, there is no guarantee that Mustipher or Bars can be long-term building blocks for the Bears.
That’s why if the opportunity arises for the Bears, they need to consider doing their homework on offensive lineman Landon Dickerson. Much like Mustipher and Bars, Dickerson offers some versatility on the offensive line. He can play both guard and center. If anything, the Bears have proven under general manager Ryan Pace over the last few years that they value prospects who can play multiple positions on the offensive line.
While he is versatile, one area where Dickerson is a liability is his athleticism. Unfortunately, he isn’t the most athletic player on the field, with the lack of flexibility and bend being a major reason as to why his fit in the NFL will be very scheme specific.
Dickerson could very well be a player that could intrigue the Bears, especially due to his versatility. Right now, it’s clear that he’s going to be a player who is either a third, fourth, or fifth-round pick that will need to earn his way onto the field at the next level.
