9. OT Liam Eichenberg, Notre Dame

Notre Dame has developed into offensive line university. The level of first-round offensive lineman that have come from South Bend over the last decade or so have been amongst the best in the NFL. Recent names like Ronnie Stanley, Zack Martin, Quenton Nelson, and Mike McGlinchey come to mind. The latest addition to that group is set to be Liam Eichenberg.

Here’s the deal: Eichenberg is going to be a first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. He’s a guy who’s ready to start from day one in the NFL and will end up developing into a franchise-caliber left tackle.

What makes Eichenberg such an appealing process is his measurables. Listed at 6-foot-6 and weighing 305 pounds, it’s very apparent that Eichenberg has the length needed to play left tackle in the NFL.

One area where Eichenberg will truly be tested against Alabama is in his ability to anchor. He does have a strong anchor, however, against the Alabama defensive line, the question will be, can he re-anchor when pushed back? That’s a question that Eichenberg will need to answer everytime Notre Dame takes the field.

Overall, Eichenberg would be an ideal fit for the Bears next season. He’d come in, replace Charles Leno Jr. immediately and become the undisputed leader of an offensive line that’s looking for a true leader to step up and become the face of the entire unit.
