2. Washington Football Team

The Washington Football Team has had to use multiple starting quarterbacks in 2020. With 2019 first-round pick Dwayne Haskins clearly proving that he’s not the answer and Alex Smith aging, the it’s clear that Ron Rivera’s team is going to be in the market for a quarterback in 2021.

Washington would be an interesting landing spot for Trubisky. They feature a solid defense with key pieces such as Chase Young, Montez Sweat, Jonathan Allen, and Daron Payne. On the offensive side of the ball, Washington has key playmakers such as wide receiver Terry McLaurin and running back Antonio Gibson, both of whom have bright futures in the NFL.

As a team that’s continued to prove that they can compete and win on the heels of a good defense, Trubisky wouldn’t be asked to be more than a game manager who’s being asked to just keep Washington in the game, not necessarily win or lose it.

Washington isn’t the kind of team, especially under Rivera who’s going to commit any kind of big money to Trubisky. Much like the 2020 offseason, Rivera will bring Trubisky in but make him work to earn the starting job. It’s quite possible, that Washington signs him to a cheap deal that could also make him a stopgap option should they draft a quarterback in 2021.
