Forward Line Four

Smith-Kampf-Carpenter

The fourth line has the potential to make an impact this year. David Kampf is the perfect fourth-line center to have in a season like this. He doesn’t have much of an offensive punch to his game but he can play well in his own end and help make others around him better in that zone. He is one of three players on this line who can play center but he probably deserves to play it because of what he can do defensively.

Zack Smith and Ryan Carpenter are good wingers for a line with Kampf. If the line was able to have a bit of offensive flair to it, it would be because of the two wingers. Kampf has the potential to put up points but it is always more likely if he has decent wingers. If they all play to their strength, it could be a good fourth line.

Of course, having a fourth line that doesn’t make mistakes is the most important thing. There are guys like Jonathan Toews, Dominik Kubalik, and Alex DeBrincat amongst others to score goals so this line contributing offense would just be a bonus. In a perfect world, this is how they line up so that they can get the most out of all their forwards.
