Forward Line Three

Janmark-Strome-Shaw

The Chicago Blackhawks have a chance to put together a pretty good third line if they do it right. The perfect line in this situation would have to have Dylan Strome as a center. He isn’t signed to a contract yet and is currently sitting as an RFA so we need to hope that they are able to get something done. If they can’t, they might trade him but for now, he would make their perfect third-line center.

It is less than ideal to separate Strome from his longtime linemate, Alex DeBrincat, but for the betterment of the team, it is a good idea. They have Dach now to be the second-line center and he is better than Strome and you can’t really justify putting DeBrincat on the third line with the way he can score.

For that reason, having Mattias Janmark on Strome’s third line wing makes the most sense. He was recently added by Chicago in free agency. He should be able to play solid in all three zones and contribute some offense as well. Andrew Shaw on the other wing makes the most sense if he is healthy. Hawks fans know by now how effective he can be so if he is playing well on the third line, they will be in good shape.
