Forward Line Two

DeBrincat-Dach-Kane

We still don’t know if Dach was the perfect pick for the Chicago Blackhawks at number three in the 2019 NHL Draft. We are going to soon find out, however, as he should line up as the second-line center in 2021. The Blackhawks have no business adding anyone in free-agency at this point so a perfect lineup would have Dach playing in the second-line center role. He was awesome in the return to play bubble so that is positive. He will join the Blackhawks fresh off of an appearance in the World Junior Championship.

Of course, Patrick Kane will be the second line right wing. That does not mean that he won’t have lots of ice time as he will probably lead all forwards in ice time every single game this season. He just has been listed as the second line right wing for his entire career and it won’t change this year. He should be ready to have another point per game season which is very exciting to think about. If there were a reason to watch this bad Blackhawks team this year, Kane would be one of them.

Alex DeBrincat had a slow year in 2019-20. He didn’t have the 40 goal year that he had in the season prior but he still had moments where he looked good. The Hawks made a great selection when they took DeBrincat as he is the leading scorer of his draft class of all players taken outside of the first round. This has a chance to be a very good line if all three players play to their potential at the same time.
