Forward Line One

Kubalik-Toews-Nylander

Jonathan Toews is still the first-line center of the Chicago Blackhawks. They have Kirby Dach to take over that role in the future and you also never know who they get lucky enough to draft down the line but for now, it is Toews. He is one of the greatest players in the history of the franchise but he is also one of the best players on the current team.

On his left side, will be the second runner up to the Calder Trophy in Dominik Kubalik. He had a monster rookie season in which he scored 30 goals. He plays well with Toews and is productive enough to be a first-line winger. This is a big year for Kubalik as he tries to avoid a sophomore slump during the shortened season.

Alex Nylander is someone who can be hit or miss when hockey returns. There are nights where he looks like he is so good but for the most part, he has been below average at his job. It was a terrible trade when he was acquired and always will be. With that said, there really aren’t many other options for him if he has to be in the lineup. He doesn’t fit the role enough to be a bottom-six forward so if he plays, which he will, he will be in the top-six. Hopefully, Toews and Kubalik are able to help him become something.
