The Chicago Bears have a big chance to bring fans back in with a win over the Minnesota Vikings.

The Chicago Bears play games with their fans every single week. They started the 2020 season 5-1 and it was a forgone conclusion that they were going to be in the playoffs. Then, six straight losses brought them to a record of 5-7. The sixth straight loss was a game against the Detroit Lions that they were leading in and blew in the final minutes of the game. After that, it seemed like it was a forgone conclusion that they wouldn’t make the playoffs.

Last week, the Bears defeated the Houston Texans in dominating fashion. For the first time this season, both sides of the ball looked very good for pretty much the whole game. The coaching started to fall off a cliff as the game went on but it didn’t really affect the final score. It did bring their record up to 6-7 and now they look like they have a chance at the playoffs again.

It all starts with a Sunday afternoon matchup with the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings already beat the Bears on national television a few weeks ago and it wasn’t pretty. The defense played pretty well and kept Minnesota to 19 points but Nick Foles and the offense only scored 13. This time around, it will be Mitchell Trubisky under center trying to get this team back in it.

If the Bears are able to pull off a big win against the Vikings, they might reel some fans back in. The reason is because of the fact that the following week has them playing against the Jacksonville Jaguars who are so bad. They, as an organization, probably don’t want to win another game. They want to have the worst possible record so they can draft their future quarterback in 2021. They are almost locked to get Justin Fields and have an outside chance at Trevor Lawrence.

Following that, is a week 17 showdown with the Green Bay Packers. Green Bay embarrassed the Bears (also on national television) a few weeks ago as well. We shouldn’t be confident in that game right now but there is a chance that Green Bay rests all of their stars if they are locked into whatever seed they are getting. If they win out, there is a chance they make it with some help from the Arizona Cardinals’ opponents.

Some Bears fans might be against all of this and they are probably smart to be. The worse they do, their better their draft pick will be. With that said, a chance at a top-ten pick is probably gone but you can’t be confident in them making anything of these picks anyway. We don’t know if they will actually get rid of Ryan Pace and he has messed up three of four first-round picks. The Bears aren’t going anywhere this season but a win over the Vikings sure would add some extra entertainment.
