The Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals have one of the fiercest rivalries in all of Major League Baseball. Those two teams and their fanbases do not like each other. With that said, baseball is business at the end of the day and if the St. Louis Cardinals offer good money to Kyle Schwarber, he will take it.

At the end of the day, Schwarber owes nothing to the Cubs anymore. He was brilliant in helping them win the World Series for the first time in 108 years and then they cut him after one slow year. He could absolutely make heads turn and head down the road to St. Louis and play for the Cardinals. He would make a great fit there as well.

The Cardinals are kind of like the Yankees in a way. They are almost always competitive. If they added a power-bat like Schwarber to the middle of their lineup, they would be even more dangerous. They were one of the teams that dealt with bad COVID-19 outbreaks in 2020 and that seemed to keep them from reaching their true potential, despite making the playoffs anyway. They might be pretty good next season if they are able to take advantage of an otherwise weak division so adding Schwarber might be a smart play.
