San Diego Padres

The San Diego Padres are one of the five most exciting teams in all of baseball. They are also looking like a team that can be a powerhouse in the National League for a long time. They have a long way to go but there are some great pieces there ready to win now. They made it to the playoffs last season but lost in the playoffs to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Dodgers are the team in the National League that everyone is looking up to right now. They won the World Series in 2020 and should be just as good in 2021. The Padres play in the same division as them and plan to make it rough on them all season long. Adding a power-bat like Kyle Schwarber would really help them in that cause.

If the Padres added Schwarber, a few different things could happen. The National League may or may not have the designated hitter again in 2021 and he could fill that role if they do. If they don’t, they can have him play left field as the Cubs did. If he was slotted behind MVP caliber hitters like Manny Machado and Fernando Tatis Jr, he would have a great opportunity to put up big numbers again. San Diego would be a fantastic destination for Schwarber (or any free agent) right now.
