Anthony Miller’s time with the Chicago Bears could be nearing an end

One of Ryan Pace’s favorite past-times is trading up to “get his guy.” The problem for Pace is that approach has rarely worked out. Such is the case with the much-maligned Anthony Miller. Miller was the 58th overall player selected in the 2018 draft and there was a ton of buzz and excitement around the pick at the time.

For a variety of reasons, Miller has not worked out in Chicago. Some fans have placed the blame on Miller, while others lay the blame at the feet of Matt Nagy and incompetent quarterback play.

Regardless of the reason, it appears Miller has grown frustrated with his time in Chicago and is not shy about letting his feelings be known through social media. Most recently he liked a fan’s tweet telling him he should “come to New England.”

A new general manager is likely not going to want anyone on this roster that either doesn’t want to be here or can be seen as a distraction. With that said, the new person in charge may be more than willing to let MIller go on his way and try to find success elsewhere.

A stark criticism of Matt Nagy’s tenure has been his unwillingness to hold players accountable. A new general manager may not be so unwilling. Considering Miller has only one year left on his contract, and only a $493,400 dead cap hit, he may get his wish to play somewhere else next year.
