The number one position of concern for the Bulls could see a long-term solution if Chicago goes all-in on Derrick Jones Jr. The exciting, athletic Miami Heat small forward will likely be pursued by several teams, and the Bulls are one of the rumored suitors who are interested.

Beasley presents a whole lot to love. As a 23-year-old, he has a bright future ahead. The 6-foot-6 forward is one of those utility guys who does a lot of things well and one thing exceptionally well. For those who don’t already know, Jones can fly.

Jones is looked at as one of those guys who can get people up out of their seats in a hurry, as one of the league’s best dunkers. But, that’s not all he can do. He’s also regarded as an above average defender, which is something the Bulls have seriously lacked in recent years.

To be able to add a young player like Jones who could potentially develop into an even better perimeter defender would help this team greatly going forward. He’s one of those pieces the Bulls could sign and instantly becomes a big part of their future. Let’s not forget, he spent some time under another former Bull, Jimmy Butler, who is a pretty good defender as well.

Verdict: Pursue
