Chicago Bulls Draft: RJ Barrett, Danny Green and other possible trades
By Ryan Heckman
A trade for Danny Green, plus one
Once upon a time, Danny Green was a lethal, clutch three-point specialist whom you wanted to have the ball when it mattered most. At 33 years old, he’s obviously not what he once was. However, the Lakers appear ready to continue adding talent to their roster in effort to repeat as Champions, and are open to offers regarding Green.
If the Lakers want to add another big name next to LeBron James and Anthony Davis, Zach LaVine could be a fit. With LeBron being the most complete player in basketball and one of the best facilitators in the game, LaVine would have plenty of set-up situations he could capitalize on. Plus, with being the third option, LaVine might even be more efficient than he was in Chicago.
The Bulls would not only get Green, but young forward Kyle Kuzma and the Lakers’ first rounder this year. Adding Kuzma into the deal may have been completely out of the question a year ago, but many have cooled on him.
He’s been a fine player, but I don’t believe anyone believes he has star potential. In Chicago, he would be a fantastic reserve forward who would play quite a bit behind Lauri Markkanen, and might even supplant him in the future if the Bulls decide to move on.
