Chicago Bulls Draft: RJ Barrett, Danny Green and other possible trades
By Ryan Heckman
A trade for RJ Barrett
Saturday afternoon, a false report came out in regards to the New York Knicks and their willingness to trade guard RJ Barrett. The original tweet cited NBA insider Chad Ford and insinuated the Knicks were doing everything they could to move up into the top three picks to get LaMelo Ball — even if it required trading Barrett, Mitchell Robinson and their no. 8 pick.
The actual report from Ford states that the asking price to move into the top three may be “too rich” for New York, and that teams are asking for Barrett, Robinson and the 8th pick.
If the Bulls were willing to trade down a few picks (and they should be), the following deal would be a nice compromise for New York.
This way, the Knicks do not have to give up Robinson. The Bulls get a budding young guard in Barrett, plus New York’s no. 8 pick while dealing the fourth selection and swing man Chandler Hutchison.
Dealing for Barrett may mean yet another trade is on the way for Chicago, though. If they landed Barrett, they would have to find a home for one of their several guards. But, who would they trade? It’s likely Zach LaVine who has the most potential trade interest, and Coby White isn’t going anywhere.
Barrett in Chicago? It’s not crazy.
