Chicago Bulls Rumors: Possible Zach LaVine trades with the Mavericks
By Ryan Heckman
1. Trade No. 1
For a player of LaVine’s caliber, you have to believe the Mavericks would at least need to include their 2020 first-round pick, which sits at pick no. 18. In a weaker draft class, that pick likely won’t pan out to be a stud, so they’ll need to include more.
One option the Mavs have is to include the expiring contract of 2013 first-round pick Tim Hardaway Jr. The 28-year-old would be a nice fill-in for the Bulls at the two guard spot, should they opt to start Coby White at point guard this season.
Hardaway Jr. has been a steady scorer throughout his career, averaging anywhere from 15-19 points per game for the most part. He also improved his three ball last year and shot it at a 39 percent mark, which the Bulls would like to see, since LaVine shot it real well from beyond the arc last year.
Along with Hardaway Jr., the Bulls would land a former big-time collegiate point guard in Jalen Brunson. The Wooden Award winner and All American would bring even more youth and a bit of a scoring punch off the bench. Going into the coming years. If the Bulls could keep Brunson and Coby White together, they would have an exciting duo at the point.
